V8 tomato drinks contain 0 per cent high fructose corn syrup. I mean none at all. Is it possible that the vegetables are GMO’s because there is absolutely no high fructose corn syrup whatsoever. I’m holding a bottle right now (unless it’s not listed in the ingredients…is that what you are stating?”)
Hello! You’re right, there is no longer any HFCS listed, however there are still “natural flavorings” which can contain corn-based thickeners and MSG, and may contain HFCS since the FDA considers that ingredient to be “sourced from a plant.” Check out this article about “natural flavorings.” And thanks for reminding me that I needed to update this info after Campbell’s little “blanketing effort.” 🙂 http://healthyliving.msn.com/nutrition/9-all-natural-foods-that-arent

In the above list, there’s no “can or may” involved. These are verified “do” contains. 🙂
Uhhh, you in the part about v8 you definitely say “can contain HFCS”…
You can also add Ocean Spray cranberry juices. I contacted them about GMOs abd they admit to using GMO sugar derived from sugar beets in their products. I have switched to making ALL of my own juices now.

For two and half years I worked in a local mine to help replenish our savings after building a mortgage free house. Miners are not known for their high intellect or educational demands. However, several younger miners told me during lunchtime discussions: “If I don’t kill it (hunting) or grow it, I don’t eat it.” (or feed it to his family.) These rural people don’t watch alot to television either. I trust these young people more than my long ago college professors.

I would need to view the label on the rest of their Fusion line; the last time it was checked, that flavor was clearly using GMO ingredients. I’ll see what I can track down; do you by chance have a photo you can post to our Facebook page?

Look for those with either a round USDA Organic label on it, or a “non-GMO Project” certification label on it, or both. 🙂

V-8 is really bad for us…of course right? I am in Afghanistan and don’t trust anything here for food as far as vegetables or fruits…should I stop drinking them? They have them for us here.

Has Congress/ Supreme Court members, and First Lady been informed of the GMO situation with the contents in our every day foods? Ex: V-8 veggie drink? This contamination of marketed food is criminal isn’t it?
They are aware of it I’m sure… Obama promised GMO labeling during his first campaign. Frustrating to see the First Lady promoting healthy food but remaining mute on the topic of GMOs, isn’t it…
IIt is very frustrating when countries in Europe require marketing informaiton, such as where an item is from, content, if organic and most of all, as in France, the government is in the process of eliminating any GMO farm produce to be even grown in that country. It seems there is a greater concern for the health of its citizens than there is concern for the pocket books of the big corporations in France. I think people here would call that a kind of socialism and prefer the corporations controlling our life and death. The last I heard, we are supposed to have a government FOR the people.

I read that Capri Sun no longer contains High Fructose Corn Syrup. So far here in OH the only non gmo juices I have found are organic juices (Kroger) and Cuties regular tangerine juice, the pineapple orange IS GMO though.
The only change we’ve heard about is a different pouch. Their website still shows High Fructose Corn Syrup on the label. Not sure if you’ve seen this other page of our website, but here is a list of family-owned (not owned by pro-GMO corporations) organic brands. So far we’ve managed to find three organic juice manufacturers (though I’m not sure if any of them come in pouch form): Apple & Eve; Eden Organic (the oldest independent organic food manufacturer in the US), and Uncle Matts.
The packaging of Capri Sun Orange juice drink in the UK says and I quote,
“Nothing Artificial At All!”
If their drinks contain GMO’s surely this contravenes the Advertising Standard Authority’s code?
Aidan… we’re not familiar with the codes in your country, so we can’t weigh in on whether “artificial” includes GMOs or not. However we would not be surprised if your version of Capri Sun Orange Juice drink is made without GMOs… since the majority of our food manufacturers here in the US sell the same brands in both the US and the EU, but the EU versions are made without GMOs (and harmful dyes, and other unhealthy additives all prohibited in your country), not to mention proper labeling; whereas in our country they include all the harmful things and don’t tell us (meanwhile telling us it would cost more if they did). Ironic, no? 🙂
They use marketing and tricky words to get around things like that, its like in America they SAY all natural, but that just means it comes from a plant or animal, whether Inhumanely raised or GMO or not. All Natural can be ANYTHING but in America. This ship is sinking fast, for those of you that think things are going to get better I have some bad news for you. Just love your families and live life with love and strap in for the quick ride down the mountain…

This is essentially a political issue, a government problem that must be addresses in such a way that actual control can be done. The major intent of any of those persons mentioned above, is money to feed their greed. Actually, it isn’t even the money, it is the ability to control food supplies and what is does or can do to control the nations. A push through the news media would be effective if the problem is seen as political. This could be an opportunity for D. Trump to do something constructive and redeem himself when he needs it.
Other countries had long term GMO testing that lasted years. Every GMO tested causes cancer and other diseases. So why does the FDA approve their Frankenfoods? Brussels in EU is very strict on what goes in foods. No Hormones, Antibiotics or Sterioids in Meat products. So many herbicides and pesticides in American produce. No wonder Americans are prone to get cancer and other diseases.
If my produce dosen’t say USDAorganic then I want buy. Trader Joes claims to be Nongmo and organic then why dosen’t the items labeled say so like Aldi does? I refuse to shop their.
There is nothing wrong with the process of genetic modification. What matters is what specifically they are selecting for. If for example, GMO is selecting for a trait that allows it to absorb unusually high amounts of pesticide, its bad. But not because GMO is bad, but pesticide is. We have been selecting for traits for thousands of years. All ruby red grapefruit is technically GMO, but can be labeled “organic”. We ne d more info on how the crop was modified & why, rather than just blanket GMO hysteria, which makes absolutely no sense & has no utility.
